Such was the controversy surrounding the series that Edge Of Darkness was repeated in the UK (in the 3 x double episode version) around three weeks after the original transmision on BBC2, this time on BBC1. Precise dates are unknown but the series set a record for fastest ever turn around - one channel to the other.
