Edge of Darkness seems to have a had more than just a casual infulence on the famous James Bond series of films. In fact, following the airing of the series in 1985, the next four Bond films had some link to the mini-series;

- Joe Don Baker, who played Darius Jedburgh in Edge Of Darkness, played arms dealer Brad Whittacker in the 1987 Bond film The Living Daylights.

- Edge Of Darkness composers Michael Kamen and Eric Clapton worked on the soundtrack for the controversial 1989 Bond film Licence to Kill. In the end, Clapton's contribution was never used and Kamen ended up scoring the film on his own.

- Martin Campbell, director of Edge of Darkness, directed the 1994 Bond film Goldeneye.

- Goldeneye saw the return of Joe Don Baker to the Bond series, playing an unconventional CIA agent (sound familiar?) named Jack Wade. Baker is one of the few actors to play two different lead roles in the James Bond films, and he reprised his Jack Wade character in the next film, Tomorrow Never Dies.
