From DVD TIMES
This DVD doesn't even come close to the quality the BBCs masters are held in. The picture is not fine, especially when the opening credits feature dropout that is so bad it distorts several frames. DON'T be so forgiving just because this series is so damn good. There's hardly any difference to the first version which was only slightly worse (ie disgustingly bad). The BBC version will be the one to go for. I'm holding out every hope it will be mastered from the 16mm AB negatives rather that some grotty multi-gen 1" videotape.
