During the seduction scene, the strap of Michelle Pfeiffer's dress (visible in the image above right) falls down as she spins around to kiss Jeff Bridges. In the closeup that follows, the strap is suddenly back on her shoulder (only to tumble down again).
Michelle Pfeiffer seems to have wandering hands during one point of the balcony dance scene, moving from Jeff's waist to his hand in the blink of an eye.
The most famous goof in the film can be spotted when the brothers are arguing in the alley. As the camera angle changes to shoot them through the fence, a cameraman can be spotted quickly jumping out of the way of the fighting.
In the scene where Jeff Bridges toasts Ellie Raab (Nina) for Christmas, his glass moves from his left hand to his right hand mid-toast.
Towards the end of the film when Jack visits Frank at home, he arrives in the taxi wearing a white shirt. Moments later, when he greets his brother, the shirt he has on is dark blue.
(see THE CUTTING ROOM FLOOR - scene 19 - for an explanation) During the scene where Susie takes a bath and Jack goes to answer the phone, his braces suddenly jump from his shoulders to his waist.
(see THE CUTTING ROOM FLOOR - scenes 95 to 101 - for an explanation) During the scene where the boys take Susie shopping for a new outfit, one of the sales tags (which are apparently so hard to remove) mysteriously vanishes from Pfeiffer's dress between one shot and the next.
We don't have the technical knowledge to confirm this one, but a few sites have this goof listed so here goes; In one of the last scenes in the film, an electric trolley bus rolls by in the background. The real sound is a just a low hum and whine, but the Foley man dubbed in the loud growl of a Detroit Diesel from the type of bus in Quick Change or Speed.
A 1996 UK television commercial featured a young woman in a red cocktail dress, lying on a piano and singing. The camera finally pulls out to reveal that she's in her parents' living room, who are sitting on the sofa looking surprised but offering encouragement (the voiceover suggested a particular finance company could supply a loan for a piano).
The film was also spoofed in the 1991 US comedy Hot Shots and the 2000 German comedy Otto - Der Katastrofenfilm.
The Fabulous Baker Boys are now also a UK techno music group, a US football, basketball AND baseball team, and a pair of Playgirl magazine male nude models (sorry - no pictures available). Various bakeries around the world have also used numerous variations on the name for their businesses (ie - The Fabulous Baking Boys).
In Japan, the title of the film is "Koi no yukue" which translates as "The Place Love Has Gone".
