More than just the dialogue, titles for the deaf are much more specific, requiring sound effects and off-screen noises to be titled on screen. The films in the series that are titled for the deaf include The Fabulous Baker Boys. This special print of the film was not just released to video, but has also been shown at selected cinemas (for example it was screened during the 13th Dublin Film Festival). On December 3, 1997 PolyGram Filmed Entertainment (PFE) entered into an agreement to acquire a library of film catalogues from Consortium de Realisation SAS (CDR), containing 1,051 titles, for US$225 million.
